See the exterior renderings of 3 new temples — 1 in California, 2 in Brazil

The renderings are the first look at the Bakersfield California, Londrina Brazil and Ribeirão Preto Brazil temples

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the exterior renderings of three announced temples still in planning and design stages — the Bakersfield California, Londrina Brazil and Ribeirão Preto Brazil temples.

All three have had their site locations officially released previously. The renderings were first published Monday, Jan. 8, on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

Groundbreaking dates for the three temples have not been scheduled and will be announced later.

Bakersfield California Temple

President Russell M. Nelson announced a temple for Bakersfield, California, at the conclusion of the April 2023 general conference. Less than four months later, on July 26, 2023, a site location was released for the announced house of the Lord.

Projected to be a single-story building of approximately 30,000 square feet, the temple is planned for a 13.07-acre site at the northwest corner of the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Jewetta Avenue in Bakersfield. The site will also feature a distribution center and new meetinghouse.

California is home to nearly 730,000 Latter-day Saints in more than 1,130 congregations and a total of 12 temples that are dedicated, under construction or in planning.

Other houses of the Lord in the state include the dedicated and operating Feather River, Fresno,  Los AngelesNewport Beach, Oakland, Redlands and Sacramento temples, dedicated with the San Diego California Temple currently under renovation.

The two under construction are the Modesto and Yorba Linda temples. An additional house of the Lord is planned for San Jose, which along with Bakersfield were two of the 15 new temple locations identified by President Nelson on April 2, 2023.

Londrina Brazil Temple

President Nelson announced new temples for Londrina and Ribeirão Preto in Brazil, which were two of the 18 new temple locations identified on Oct. 2, 2022, at the conclusion of the October 2022 general conference.

In addition to both temples being announced on the same day, both also had their respective site locations released on the same day the month after being announced, on Nov. 28, 2022. The shared publications of the renderings makes it three times together for the two Brazilian temples.

The Londrina Brazil Temple is projected as a single-story temple of approximately 32,000 square feet and will be built at Avenida Harry Prochet, S/N, Jardim São Jorge, Londrina, in the state of Paraná.
