The mission of BYU–Hawaii is to prepare its students to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ and leaders in their families, communities and chosen fields, and in building the kingdom of God.
In this Church News video, titled “Global Church,” three students from the university share how studying at the school has helped them develop in each of those categories.
President John S.K. Kauwe III and his wife, Sister Monica Kauwe, also talk about how serving at BYUH has strengthened their testimonies.
President Kauwe said he wishes other members of the Church could “see what our collective faith — our collective sacrifice — as members of the Church is doing to bless the whole world.”
The students talk about the increase in perspective, hope, humility and opportunities they have experienced during their time at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ university campus in Laie, Hawaii.
